Volkswagen ID R Pikes Peak sets another race record
You might have thought you were done hearing about the VW ID R Pikes Peak electric concept vehicle. But you would be wrong. Over last weekend, driver Romain Dumas set another track record at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in England, beating the existing record by more than three seconds. The Goodwood track might not be as high as the one the ID R dominated in Colorado, but the race in the United Kingdom was also hotter and presented a different set of challenges. However, that didn’t stop Dumas from posting a time of 43.05 seconds during a qualifying run on July 14. Like the performance at the Race to the Clouds, the ID R’s mark was the best for any vehicle in the competition, not just for its class. Check out the video the automaker shared below. There is a lot of exciting things happening throughout Volkswagen’s global presence. We have spent a fair amount of time discussing how the automaker is planning to introduce a fleet of vehicles that will be powered by batteries. How many cup holders are in the 2019 VW Jetta?
From the years 1980 to 2015, the amount of time spent commuting work has risen from 21.7 minutes to 26 minutes. A graph provided in a Washington Post article shows that this trend has been steadily rising with few if any signs of slowing down. With that in mind, isn’t it going to be important to be as comfortable as possible? Volkswagen thinks so, and that is why so much care and attention to detail went into to constructing the interior of its newest compact sedan. How fast will the 2019 VW Bonneville Jetta be?
Fresh off of its successful run at the annual “Race to the Clouds” in Colorado, Volkswagen will be heading a bit farther west to show off another special vehicle. The 2019 Volkswagen Jetta is one of the most exciting arrivals of the new model year. If you liked our series of blogs about the Pikes Peak race, you’ll love what you learn about the upcoming competition on the Bonneville Salt Flats in Wendover, Utah in August. The car that the automaker is bringing to the competition is a specially-prepared version of the new version of the popular sedan. So, how fast will the 2019 VW Bonneville Jetta be? Did VW break the Pikes Peak race record?
It seems like a lifetime ago since we were first sharing the teaser images for the Volkswagen I.D. R Pikes Peak electric concept car. When the automaker’s team competed at the June 24 event, they were probably confident they would have a strong showing, but they had no idea they would actually achieve so much. Did VW break the Pikes Peak race record? You bet, they did. Driver Roman Dumas recorded the top overall time in “Race to the Clouds,” besting the previous mark set by Sebastien Loeb by 16 seconds. This new record isn’t only for the vehicles competing in the same class as the I.D. R Pikes Peak car from VW, this also includes cars with conventional drivetrain technology. Qualifying time for VW concept vehicles leads its class
After months of teasers, previews and general excitement, the Volkswagen ID R Pikes Peak concept vehicle will be competing in the annual “Race to the Clouds” on Sunday (June 24). It shouldn’t be terribly difficult to understand that the team is going to want to get as familiar as possible with the course as well as their purpose-built equipment. If the practice session from earlier this week is any indication, driver Roman Dumas is in position to succeed after pushing the VW ID R Pikes Peak concept vehicle to the top qualifying time in its class of three minutes, 16.083 seconds. It is just over a week before Volkswagen competes in its first Pikes Peak “Race to the Clouds.” This is the first time the automaker will have an entry in the race in 30 years. Over the past couple of months, we have brought you as much information as we can about the car that will be competing under the VW banner in Colorado Springs. How safe is the 2018 Volkswagen Atlas?
The 2018 Volkswagen Atlas has been available for sale or lease at Spitzer VW for a while now. In that time, we have quickly learned that the new crossover SUV is incredibly capable and flexible. After the most recent round of evaluations that have been released by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, we now know how safe the 2018 Volkswagen Atlas is.
