The New VW ID. Buzz

You might remember the iconic microbus from Volkswagen in the 1960s, but did you know that this vehicle is making a comeback as fully electric? That’s right! The Volkswagen ID. Buzz was first introduced as a concept at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show, and now in 2024, it’s expected to go on sale sometime this year. Whether you’re craving nostalgia or you’d love a three-row electric model to bring your family around North Ridgeville, get to know more about the new VW ID. Buzz below!

When Will the VW ID. Buzz Be Available in Amherst?

Soon! The VW ID. Buzz is expected to arrive at dealerships sometime in 2024. While the automaker is not taking reservations, you may fill out the quick form on their ID. Buzz page to get all of the latest updates. Alternatively, you can tell Spitzer Volkswagen, your Volkswagen dealer near North Ridgeville, about your interest in this model, and we can keep you posted.

How Does the VW ID. Buzz Perform?

One of the reasons why there’s a delay in availability between the European and U.S. versions of the ID. Buzz is that the automaker is working hard to ensure the model is adjusted properly for the U.S. market. For example, only the long-wheelbase passenger version will be sold in the U.S. to cater to the demand for a more spacious three-row model. Plus, the three-row version is capable of equipping a bigger battery and delivering better performance than the two-row European-spec model!

Here are some performance specs you’ll enjoy when you test-drive the VW ID. Buzz near Elyria:

  • 91-kWh battery
  • Produces up to 282 hp
  • Uses an efficient skateboard design, where the battery is mounted in the floor, to save space and allow for better handling
  • Available all-wheel drive with about 33- hp and dual motors
  • Has a top speed of 99 mph

What Does the VW ID. Buzz Look Like?

You can expect callbacks to the original Bus via the retro cues and other design elements that point to the future. The new VW ID. Buzz will brighten up the roads of Avon with its iconic oversized and illuminated VW logo.

For the color palette, the microbus is going bold and even offers the option for two-tone combinations. Some of the shades include Energetic Orange, Pomelo Yellow, Mahi Green, Cabana Blue, Metro Silver, and Indium Grey.
